 Updates from the Environmental Committee
The next meeting of the Environmental Committee will be on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m.
All grades have now been
taught about Reducing, Reusing and Recycling (the 3R's). The cafeteria and
classroom recycling has really taken off. Thank you to all of the cafeteria
staff, teachers and students for helping to adopt our new practices. A
special thanks to Ken for helping us to get it right!
We have collected over 3,500
drink pouches in the cafeteria since October and have already earned over $70
for MPA. Wow! That's for drink containers we were throwing out before!!!
A big thank you goes to
Berlin's Restaurant and Supply and Cici's Pizza for donating
nearly 100 pieces of reusable flatware and plates for the 5th grade holiday
feast, and for reuse at future MPA get-togethers! This is an excellent example
of the 3R's!!! We're teaching kids the importance of waste
reduction.

Each time you shop Publix and show your partners’ card, Publix will donate a % of your entire purchase back to MPA. Publix cards available through PTA. Please share them with your family and friends and neighbors. They can be used at any Publix store in Charleston.
Printer Cartridge Recycling
Please help raise money for our school library by donating your used printer cartridges. All name-brand cartridges can be donated. You can help us (and the environment) by turning in your empty cartridges to Mrs. Henson.
Box Tops for EducationReminder MPA is a box tops for education school. Save those box tops and send them in. Every box top counts!
